pump ratio on this one is 50:1 -- does that mean it'll push through heavier grease without bogging down on the air supply?

At 50:1, you're getting serious mechanical advantage from the air pressure, so thicker greases that would stall out a lower-ratio pump tend to move through just fine. The tradeoff is volume per cycle is lower, but for heavy-duty industrial lubrication that's usually the right call.
