Question by: Hubert G on Jan 14, 2026, 1:00 PM
Been lookin at air breathers for our hydraulic reservoir and ran across this Schroeder unit. What exactly is it doing for the system, like what's the actual job it's performing?
Answer by: Customer Support on Jan 16, 2026, 6:23 AM
Every time fluid level changes in a hydraulic reservoir, air gets pulled in or pushed out. Without filtration on that vent point, airborne dust, dirt, and moisture ride right into the fluid. This breather strainer from Schroeder Industries sits on that opening and catches contaminants before they reach the fluid, which keeps the hydraulic components downstream from wearing out ahead of schedule.
