The Aluminum Cam & Groove Adapter Male Half 2-1/2 Inch Male NPT is an essential component for managing liquid transfer processes. Designed under the CAN Industrial Inc brand this adapter features robust construction with a body material of Aluminum A356 or A104 brass cam levers and plated steel pins rings and safety clips.

Its operation is straightforward: slide the adapter into the coupler and press the cam levers down with normal hand pressure to couple. To uncouple lift the cam arms and remove the adapter. This adapter is not intended for use with compressed air or steam service.

Safety is a top priority with the inclusion of a safety pin feature on female couplers which prevents accidental uncoupling. This product interchanges with other products adhering to standard A-A-59326 or DIN 2828 and is recommended for liquid applications.

trying to swap out an old camlock, is this one the male half with 2-1/2" male NPT threads?

Youre looking at a male cam and groove adapter with 2-1/2 inch male NPT pipe threads. It mates by sliding into a compatible cam and groove coupler and locking down the cam levers by hand.

figured i'd ask before ordering -- will this adapter work with a standard cam and groove coupler from a different brand, or is it proprietary to one system?

Cam and groove fittings made to standard A-A-59326 or DIN 2828 are interchangeable across manufacturers, so this adapter should mate up with any coupler built to those same standards. The one exception worth knowing is the half-inch and eight-inch sizes, which have no formal standard and often don't play nice between brands. At two-and-a-half inch, you're in the range where interchangeability holds.
