fitting says it works with AQP and StartLite hose, does that mean it won't work on other aeroquip hose lines, or is that just what it's rated for?

Those two hose lines are what this fitting is specifically rated for. AQP and StartLite are both Eaton Aeroquip racing hose products, and this reusable fitting is built to work with the -06 size in those lines. Using it on other hose constructions outside of those two isn't something the fitting is spec'd for, so sticking to AQP or StartLite in the -06 size is the right call.
