got a tight routing situation under the hood on a race build and need to double back on a -06 line without twisting the hose. this 180 elbow gonna let me do that without binding up the assembly?

For exactly that kind of routing, the swivel end on this fitting is what makes it work. Because the female JIC end rotates independently, you can lock down the hose assembly and still adjust the connection angle after installation. No need to twist the hose itself to get alignment.
