trying to hook up a -08 AQP hose to a JIC line, is this the right end for that?

Built for AQP and StartLite Racing Hose, it mates to a -08 hose on one side and a female JIC 37 degree flare swivel on the other, so it fits that -08 hose to a JIC 37 flare connection.

Both. The FBM4063 is built to work with AQP and StartLite racing hose in the -08 size. You don't have to pick one or the other. As long as you're running either of those hose lines in that dash size, this fitting is the right match.
