Manufactured by Eaton Aeroquip, the Blue Anodized Aluminum Adapter, -16 Male JIC 37° Flare To 1.0 Inch Male NPT, 90° Elbow connects a -16 JIC 37-degree flare to a 1-inch male NPT port in a right-angle configuration. The blue anodized aluminum construction offers corrosion resistance and a lightweight profile suited to hydraulic systems where weight and fluid compatibility are considerations.
The 90-degree elbow geometry allows routing changes in confined spaces where straight or inline adapters are not practical. Carrying Eaton Aeroquip catalog number C1CQ42, this adapter is a recognized component within Aeroquip's industrial and hydraulic adapter line. It is compatible with a broad range of hydraulic fluids, as documented in the Eaton fluid compatibility reference for this product series.

It's got a -16 JIC 37-degree flare on one side, and a 1-inch male NPT on the other.

trying to hook a -16 JIC line into a 1 inch NPT port, but i need a 90 to clear the frame. is that what this adapter is for?

For tight spots where a straight fitting will not work, this elbow adapter lets you turn the line 90 degrees while connecting a -16 JIC 37 degree flare on one side to a 1.0 inch male NPT connection on the other.

Got a tight spot on a hydraulic line where I need to make a 90-degree turn from a -16 JIC fitting over to a 1-inch NPT port. This Aeroquip piece gonna handle that, or am I looking at the wrong part?
Answer by: Customer Support on Dec 30, 2025, 7:18 AM
That's exactly what this adapter is built for. One end is a -16 male JIC 37-degree flare, the other is a 1-inch male NPT, and the 90-degree elbow geometry handles the direction change in one fitting. It's a good choice when you're working in a confined area where a straight adapter just won't route clean.
