got four single-acting cylinders i need to run at the same time. is the AM41 the right piece for splitting one inlet out to all four?

For that setup, the AM41 is meant to act as a split-flow valve that takes one inlet and feeds four outlet ports so you can control four single-acting cylinders simultaneously.

Running four single-acting cylinders off one pump line, does this manifold let me control each one separate, or is it all or nothing when I open it up?

Each of the four outlet ports has its own needle valve handle, so you can open and close them independently. If you only need flow going to two of the cylinders at a given moment, just leave the other two closed. All ports share the same 3/8"-18 NPTF connection size, and the whole assembly is rated to 10,000 psi, so it holds up under a full pump load without issue.
