This BG5 Series 3-Port Pressure Compensated Non-Adjustable Constant Volume Priority Flow Divider from Brand Hydraulics receives a single stream and divides it into a priority stream and an excess stream. Both outlet flows are pressure compensating, and the sum of the outlet flows equals the inlet flow. The priority flow is preset at the factory to customer requirements.
Features include a precision-ground, heat-treated steel spool for long life and pressure compensation for both outlet ports. Every flow divider is tested for priority flow and pressure compensation. Its large metering spool provides a greater area for the pressure differential to act upon.
The valve body is constructed of cast iron, with Buna N O-rings, and heat-treated steel spools. This flow divider offers a 0 to 30 GPM flow range and a 3000 PSI pressure rating. A 30-micron filter is recommended.

got a steering circuit that needs a steady 2 gpm no matter what the rest of the system is doing. is that what this BG5 divider is for?
Answer by: Customer Support on Aug 29, 2025, 11:24 AM
In a system where one function has to get oil first, this valve splits one inlet flow into a priority outlet and an excess outlet. The priority side on this model is a constant 2.00 GPM setting, and both outlet flows are pressure compensated so the two outlet flows add up to the inlet flow.
