Designed for directional air control in industrial pneumatic circuits, this 2-way brass valve from Versa Valves provides reliable on/off flow control in compressed air systems. The brass construction offers good corrosion resistance and durability in typical pneumatic service conditions. As a normally open (NOR) configuration, the valve allows air flow in its de-energized state, making it well suited for applications where flow must be maintained during power loss or standby conditions.
The Versa Valve Air Valve 2-Way Brass NOR is a practical choice for pneumatic control panels, machine builders, and industrial automation applications requiring straightforward 2-position air control. Versa Valves products are distributed through Gulf Controls Corporation.

Question by: Rod M on Jan 9, 2026, 6:26 AM
normally open means it stays open when the power's off, right? just want to make sure I got that straight before I wire this thing up
Answer by: Customer Support on Jan 10, 2026, 7:59 PM
Correct on that. A normally open valve lets air flow through in its de-energized state, meaning no power equals open passage. When you energize it, flow gets shut off. That setup works well any time you need air moving through the circuit during standby or in the event of a power loss, which is exactly what this valve is built around.
Question by: Lee A on May 3, 2025, 9:42 AM
power goes out on our machine, does this valve stay open or shut?
Answer by: Customer Support on May 4, 2025, 9:28 PM
In a normally open setup, air flow is allowed when the valve is de-energized, so it stays open during a power loss.
Question by: Tony Y on Jan 19, 2026, 9:49 PM
So this is normally open, meaning air flows when it's not powered, right? Just wanna make sure I understand it right.
Answer by: Customer Support on Jan 21, 2026, 8:20 AM
That's correct. As a normally open (NOR) valve, this unit allows air to pass through it in its default, de-energized state.
