Does this adapter work with H338 hose, or do I need something different for that application?

H338 hose is one of the compatible types for this fitting, along with H105 and H115. It's a field attachable design, so you can put it together on site without needing a crimping machine. The body is CA360 brass, which holds up well against corrosion in air brake line environments. Just keep in mind the working pressure is determined by whichever value is lower between your hose size and the hose end configuration, so confirm both before putting it into service.
