Will this tee work with nylon tubing or is it only for metal?

Trying to figure out if this tee will hook up to my quarter-inch copper line and still give me a standard NPT thread on the branch port, is that right?

Both of those things check out. The run side accepts 0.25 inch OD tubing, which covers plastic, copper, and aluminum, and the branch port is a 1/4-18 male NPT thread. So if your existing line is quarter-inch copper and the port you're threading into is a standard female NPT, this fitting connects both without any adapters in between.
