Brass Compression Fitting For Plastic, Copper, & Aluminum Tubing, 0.50 Inch Tube OD To 3/8-18 Female NPT, Straight

Description & Features

Designed for robust industry requirements this brass compression fitting facilitates efficient connections for plastic copper and aluminum tubing. With a tube outer diameter of 0.50 inches and a 3/8-18 Female NPT thread it ensures secure and reliable performance in instrumentation hydraulic and pneumatic systems.

Constructed from CA360 Brass this fitting provides durability with a working pressure capacity up to 2000 psi given a 4:1 safety factor relevant to the tube size. It maintains functionality between -65F to +250F when used with metal tubing. However the operational temperature range should correspond to the plastic tubing specifications when applied.

The fitting assembly process is straightforward: simply cut the tubing to the necessary length slide the nut and sleeve on and ensure the tubing is bottomed on the fitting shoulder. After lubricating the threads tighten the nut hand tight initially followed by the appropriate number of turns with a wrench based on tube size. This product also offers fair vibration resistance with higher resistance achievable using a long nut.

Complying with ASA ASME and SAE standards it is also listed by Underwriters Laboratories for flammable liquids upon special order. Not recommended for use with steel tubing plastic tubing requires the Eaton PT230 insert. This fitting is a cost-effective and versatile solution with easy assembly and a broad selection of styles and sizes.

Product Questions & Answers (2)

Question by: Vince K on Jul 7, 2025, 6:21 PM
Will this fitting hold up okay in a hydraulic system, or is it more for lower pressure stuff?
Answer by: Customer Support on Jul 9, 2025, 6:57 AM
This brass fitting is rated for working pressures up to 2000 psi, but that's also tied to the tubing size. It's designed to handle robust industry requirements.
Question by: Carl E on Mar 23, 2026, 7:48 AM
fitting says it works with plastic tubing but does it need any kind of insert or extra part for that to work right?
Answer by: Customer Support on Mar 24, 2026, 9:39 PM
Plastic tubing does require an insert along with this fitting. You'll need the Eaton PT230 insert, which keeps the tubing from collapsing under compression when the nut is tightened. Without it, the sleeve won't seat properly against the plastic and you won't get a reliable seal. Metal tubing like copper or aluminum goes in without that extra step.
