The Brass Compression Nut is designed for use with plastic, copper, and aluminum tubing with a 0.38 inch Tube OD. It is suitable for various applications including instrumentation, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
Constructed from CA360 brass, the nut meets ASA, ASME, and SAE specifications and standards. It operates within a pressure range of up to 2000 psi with a 4:1 safety factor and can tolerate temperatures from -65deg;F to +250deg;F when paired with metal tubing.
This compression nut offers easy assembly without the need for flaring and is available in both long and short nut configurations to accommodate different vibration resistance needs. It is ideal for use with aluminum, copper, and plastic tubing, though plastic tubing (excluding Eaton PT230) requires the 2030 insert.
Assembly instructions recommend cutting the tubing to the desired length, sliding the nut and sleeve on the tube with the threaded end facing the fitting, and ensuring the tubing is bottomed on the fitting shoulder. Lubricate the threads and assemble the nut to the fitting body, tightening hand tight, and then further using a wrench as specified.

got a 3/8 inch OD copper line i need to reconnect after a repair, this nut gonna work for that size?
Answer by: Customer Support on Apr 12, 2025, 7:49 AM
That's what this nut is sized for. The 0.375 inch tube OD matches 3/8 inch copper tubing, and copper is one of the materials it's rated to work with. Just make sure you've got the matching sleeve in place before threading it onto the fitting body. Slide the nut on first, then the sleeve, with the threaded end of the nut facing toward the fitting. Once you get it hand tight, give it another 2-1/4 turns with a wrench and you're set.

Answer by: Customer Support on Oct 26, 2025, 7:24 AM
For 3/8 inch tube outside diameter, this nut matches a 0.375 inch tube OD. It is meant for use with plastic, copper, or aluminum tubing.

What kind of tubing can I use with this nut?
Answer by: Customer Support on Jul 7, 2025, 1:52 PM
It's made to work with aluminum, copper, and plastic tubing. Just be sure to use a 2030 insert for most plastic tubing, except for Eaton PT230.

got a 3/8 tube, do i need to flare the end for this nut to seal up?
Answer by: Customer Support on Dec 21, 2025, 6:54 AM
No flaring is part of the setup here. It is a compression style nut meant to assemble with the matching sleeve on 0.38 inch tube OD, and the basic steps are cut the tube square, slide the nut and sleeve on, bottom the tube on the fitting shoulder, then tighten hand tight and finish with a wrench per the assembly procedure.
