Been trying to sort out if this fitting'll work on a transmission cooler line setup. Does the 42-degree inverted flare end mate up right for that kind of application?

Transmission cooler lines are one of the listed applications for this adapter, so yeah, it fits right in with that kind of work. The 0.25 inch female 42-degree inverted flare end connects on one side, and the 1/4-18 male NPT threads in on the other. Brass construction holds up well to the fluid exposure and temperature swings that cooler line setups tend to see, and the straight configuration keeps the install pretty clean without needing to fight any angle.
