trying to hook up a line in a tight spot, is this one a 45 elbow with the right thread ends?

It has a 1/4-18 female NPT on one side and a 0.38 inch female 42 degree inverted flare on the other, built into a 45 degree elbow shape for easier routing.

fitting's got a 42 degree inverted flare on one end and female NPT on the other, that right? just want to make sure before I order

Correct on both counts. One end is a 1/4-18 female NPT thread, and the other is a 0.38 inch female 42 degree inverted flare. The body angles at 45 degrees, so it'll redirect your line without needing a separate elbow. Worth double-checking that your mating fitting matches that 42 degree flare seat angle, since 37 degree and 42 degree flares are not interchangeable.
