does this adapter work for refrigeration lines, or is it strictly a hydraulic fitting?

Refrigeration is actually one of the listed applications for this adapter, right alongside hydraulic systems, grease systems, and instrumentation. If I'm hookin' this up to somethin' outside, will the brass hold up okay? Don't want it rustin' on me.

trying to hook up a 1/8 pipe line and need female on one side, male on the other. is 3200X2 straight 1/8-27 npt both ends?
