got a line with a 7/16-20 female 45 flare on it, will this adapter mate up to that and give me a 5/8-18 male flare on the other side?
Answer by: Customer Support on Feb 8, 2026, 6:00 AM
For a straight 45 degree flare union, it matches those exact ends: 7/16-20 female SAE 45 degree flare on one side and 5/8-18 male SAE 45 degree flare on the other.

Yes, this brass adapter is designed specifically for connecting a 7/16-20 female SAE 45-degree flare fitting to a 5/8-18 male SAE 45-degree flare fitting. It's a straight adapter, so it'll provide a direct connection.

Got a 3/8 tube line coming off my unit and need to step it up to a 1/4 inch male flare connection. this adapter the right call for that?
Answer by: Customer Support on Sep 3, 2025, 8:23 AM
For a 3/8 inch O.D. tube with a 7/16-20 female SAE 45 degree flare end, yes, this adapter connects that side to a 5/8-18 male SAE 45 degree flare on the other end. Both threads are standard SAE 45 degree flare, so as long as your fittings match those thread sizes, you have a solid mechanical connection. No thread sealant is included, so you will want to have your preferred sealing method ready before installation.
