got a valve with 1/4-18 female npt ports on both sides. is this the right little nipple to tie em together?
Answer by: Customer Support on Apr 12, 2025, 7:37 AM
For tying two 1/4-18 female pipe ports together, you want a straight hex nipple with 1/4-18 male NPTF threads on both ends. This adapter is exactly that, male 1/4-18 NPTF to male 1/4-18 NPTF.
Question by: Ross B on May 19, 2025, 5:26 PM
Does this nipple need any thread sealant when you're putting it in, or does it seal up on its own?
Answer by: Customer Support on May 21, 2025, 1:43 PM
NPTF threads are built to seal through thread-on-thread contact alone, so no sealant is required. The male NPTF ends on both sides of this adapter create a mechanical seal as they're tightened into the mating ports. That said, make sure both the adapter and the receiving fittings are clean and free of debris before you torque it down.
