Manufactured in brass, this 90-degree elbow adapter connects a 1/2-14 Male NPT thread to a 0.50-inch Female 42-degree inverted flare, making it well suited for hydraulic brake circuits, power steering lines, fuel systems, and transmission cooler lines. The inverted flare seating angle provides a reliable mechanical seal without requiring additional sealant at the flare connection.
Sourced from Eaton Aeroquip, the Brass Adapter, 1/2-14 Male NPT To 0.50 Inch Female 42 deg Inverted Flare, 90 deg Elbow is also applicable to instrumentation and hydraulic systems, as well as LP and natural gas installations on special order. The 90-degree elbow configuration is useful where space constraints or routing angles demand a directional change at the fitting.

trying to hook a 1/2 NPT male port to an inverted flare line, is this the right elbow?
Answer by: Customer Support on Dec 18, 2025, 10:22 AM
Function-wise, it’s a 90 degree brass adapter that goes from 1/2-14 male NPT on one end to a 0.50 inch female 42 degree inverted flare on the other, so it’s meant for exactly that kind of NPT-to-inverted-flare connection.

Will this elbow work with standard brake lines?
Answer by: Customer Support on Jan 27, 2026, 9:43 PM
This adapter is suitable for hydraulic brake, power steering, fuel lines, and transmission cooler lines. It's also rated for LP and natural gas use, but that's a special order.
