Question by: Larry B on Feb 12, 2026, 4:52 PM
got a hose end that’s 5/8-18 JIC, will this elbow mate up to it and still let me go into 3/8-18 NPT?
Answer by: Customer Support on Feb 14, 2026, 6:16 AM
Built to bridge those two standards, it has a 5/8-18 male JIC 37 degree flare on one side and a 3/8-18 male NPT on the other, with a 45 degree elbow to help with routing in a tight spot.

Question by: Shawn B on Apr 14, 2025, 12:34 PM
Does this fitting need any thread tape or sealant to get a good seal, or is it ready to go as-is?
Answer by: Customer Support on Apr 16, 2025, 7:52 AM
No sealant is needed on either end. The JIC 37-degree flare side seals by metal-to-metal contact when the fitting is torqued properly, so adding tape or compound there would actually work against you. The male NPT threads are a dry-fit design as well, so you can run it straight out of the bag without any prep.
