This versatile brass adapter connects a 1/4-18 male NPT fitting to a 7/16-20 male JIC 37 flare. Ideal for marine and military environments this adapter also supports chemical processing pulp and paper industries food and beverage processing and off-shore drilling applications.

Designed by Danfoss Power Solutions it offers robust performance with a minimum working temperature of -40F. The component uses a 1/4-18 NPTF connection on one end and a 7/16-20 SAE 37 connection on the other end.

Engineered for reliability this adapter performs without the need for thread sealant and comes with a tube inner diameter of 0.17 inches on one end and 0.28 inches on the other.

does this adapter need teflon tape or pipe dope on the threads, or is it good to go as-is?

No sealant is required on either end. The NPT side uses an NPTF connection, which is a dryseal thread form that creates a pressure-tight seal through metal-to-metal thread contact alone. The JIC 37-degree flare end seals at the flare seat, not the threads. Running it dry is the correct installation method here.
