Trying to swap out an old fitting, is this the straight adapter that goes from 1/2-14 male NPT over to a -8 JIC male flare?
Answer by: Customer Support on Mar 25, 2026, 7:35 AM
For a straight male-to-male connection, it matches 1/2-14 male NPTF on one end and 3/4-16 male SAE 37 degree (JIC) flare on the other, which is the common -8 JIC thread size.
Question by: Bonnie B on Apr 16, 2025, 9:17 AM
brass fitting here, does this one go from a half-inch NPT thread on one end to a 3/4-16 JIC flare on the other, or did I read that backwards?
Answer by: Customer Support on Apr 18, 2025, 6:48 AM
You've got it right. The NPT side is 1/2-14 male and the JIC side is 3/4-16 male with a 37-degree flare. Both ends are male, so you'd be threading this into female ports on each side of your connection. Straight configuration, no angle to it.
