This product designed by Danfoss Power Solutions (Aeroquip Inc-Alternate) is a high-quality brass adapter ideal for various technical applications. The adapter features a male 1/4-18 National Pipe Taper Fuel (NPTF) thread on one end and a male 1/2-20 Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE) 45-degree flare thread on the other forming a 90-degree elbow.

It is suitable for use in low-pressure and natural gas systems flammable liquid handling (special order) instrumentation refrigeration power steering and hydraulic and pneumatic systems.

The robust construction ensures reliable performance in harsh environments with a minimum working temperature of -65 degrees Fahrenheit.

Thread sealants are unnecessary due to the precision threading providing a secure leak-free connection.

Will this elbow adapter work alright in my hydraulic power steering system?

It's suitable for hydraulic power steering setups, as well as pneumatic systems, refrigeration, and even LP and natural gas applications.

gonna be using this on a power steering line hookup, does it need any thread sealant to keep from leaking?

No sealant required on this one. The precision threading on both ends is tight enough to hold a leak-free connection without tape or compound. That's true for both the NPTF side and the SAE 45-degree flare end. Just make sure both mating surfaces are clean and in good shape before you torque it down.
