Assembly instructions: 1. Use a tube cutter for a precise cut. 2. Insert tubing until a solid stop is felt securing tubing grip and seal. 3. Gently tug to ensure securement.

Disassembly steps: 1. Ensure no air pressure. 2. Depress collet head to release grip. 3. Pull tubing from the fitting with the collet depressed.

got a busted union on my air brake lines and need something that'll just push in and lock without a bunch of fuss. this the right kind of fitting for that?

Push-to-connect is exactly what this fitting does. You cut the tube clean with a tube cutter, push it in until you feel it stop solid, then give it a tug to make sure it's seated. No tools needed for assembly, and when you need to take it apart, you just depressurize the line, press the collet head in, and pull the tube free. It's a one-piece brass union, so you're connecting two same-size half-inch OD tube ends straight through.
