The Brass Push>Connect Air Brake Tube Fitting is a durable solution for air brake systems. Designed for seamless connectivity it features a 0.38 inch tube OD and a 1/8-27 male NPT thread offering easy and fast assembly in varied industrial applications.

Constructed from CA360 brass for its body and collet this fitting ensures reliability and long-lasting performance. The EP O-ring provides a secure seal supporting a pressure range from vacuum to 150 psi and a temperature tolerance ranging from -40F to +200F.

Engineered for moderate vibration resistance this fitting meets D.O.T. FMVSS 571.106 and SAE J1131 air brake system performance requirements. The straight connection design allows for efficient installation and reusability in the field.

Disassembly: 1. Ensure no air pressure is present. 2. Depress collet head using fingers or an Eaton tube release tool to release tubing grip. 3. With the collet depressed remove the tubing from the fitting.

Assembly Instructions: 1. Make a square cut edge on the tube using a tube cutter (maximum 15 cutting angle allowed). 2. Insert tubing straight into the fitting until a solid stop is felt. 3. Gently tug on the tubing to ensure it is secure.

fitting says it handles up to 150 psi, is that enough for a standard air brake setup, or do I need something heavier duty?

For most air brake systems running at typical operating pressures, 150 psi is right in the wheelhouse. The fitting also handles vacuum on the low end, so you've got full range coverage across normal brake system conditions. It carries both D.O.T. FMVSS 571.106 and SAE J1131 ratings, which are the recognized performance standards for air brake applications, so it's built to spec for that kind of service.

got 3/8 air brake tube. will this push connect fitting screw into a 1/8-27 npt port and go straight in?

It is set up for 0.38 inch tube OD on the push-to-connect side and a 1/8-27 male NPT thread on the other end, in a straight connector layout.
