trying to replace an old aeroquip fitting, how do i tell if this 401-8B is the right one?

fitting says reduced bore, does that mean flow's gonna be restricted compared to a full bore -08 setup?

Reduced bore fittings do pass slightly less flow than full bore equivalents at the same hose size. For most standard hydraulic circuits running -08 hose, the difference won't cause problems, but if you're working a system that's already tight on pressure drop or running high flow rates continuously, it's worth accounting for in your line sizing. The tradeoff is a more compact, lighter fitting that still handles the job in the vast majority of service conditions.
