fitting says 0.75 inch hose ID -- does that mean it'll slip onto a standard 3/4 inch garden hose, or is there somethin different about how shank fittings measure up?

Shank fittings use the inside diameter of the hose as their reference point, so a 0.75 inch hose ID shank is sized to fit a hose with a 3/4 inch inner bore.
