Machined from free cutting brass rod CDA 360 alloy, this fitting delivers reliable performance in low pressure fluid transfer, suction, and discharge applications. The Brass Short Shank Type Fitting, 0.25 Inch Hose ID to 7/16-20 SAE 45 Deg Flare, Straight connects a 1/4 inch hose ID to a 7/16-20 SAE 45-degree flare thread with a female swivel configuration. Dixon Valve & Co. catalogs this fitting under model C1FS72 as part of their Short Shank Brass Industrial Hose Fittings line.
Working pressure will vary depending on hose size and construction, the type and number of clamps used, clamp placement, proper installation, temperature, and the product being conveyed. These variables should be evaluated carefully when selecting this fitting for a specific application.

Question by: Hank G on Dec 15, 2025, 2:00 PM
fitting's made of brass right? trying to figure out if it'll hold up running hydraulic fluid through it for suction and discharge on a low pressure setup
Answer by: Customer Support on Dec 16, 2025, 9:34 PM
Brass is exactly what you've got here. Machined from free cutting brass rod, CDA 360 alloy specifically, so it's a solid material choice for low pressure fluid transfer including suction and discharge lines. Just keep in mind the working pressure you can expect out of it will depend on the hose itself, the clamps you're using, how many clamps are on there, placement, and what fluid you're running through it. The fitting doesn't carry a fixed pressure rating independent of those factors.
