This Dixon Valve & Coupling short shank fitting is machined from free-cutting brass rod CDA 360 alloy for industrial applications involving low-pressure fluid transfer, suction, and discharge. This Brass Short Shank Type Fitting features a 0.50 inch hose ID to 1/2-14 NPSM female NPT swivel, in a straight configuration.
Note that the working pressure of shank type fittings will vary with the size and construction of the hose, the type and number of clamps used, clamp placement, proper installation of clamps, temperature and product being conveyed. Its catalog number is C1AJ55.

Product Questions & Answers (3)
Question by: Rick H on Sep 17, 2025, 11:08 AM
what kind of thread is on the swivel end of this fitting, and will it hook up to standard NPT connections?
Answer by: Customer Support on Sep 18, 2025, 1:51 PM
The swivel end runs 1/2-14 NPSM, which is a straight female thread. NPSM is a straight mechanical thread, so it won't seal the same way a tapered NPT fitting does. Worth keeping that in mind when you're pairing it up, because a tapered male NPT going into a straight female NPSM swivel relies on the swivel seat for sealing, not thread taper. For low pressure fluid transfer and suction and discharge lines, that setup works fine as long as everything seats properly.

What kind of stuff can I use this for? Low pressure fluid transfer, right?
Answer by: Customer Support on Aug 6, 2025, 6:46 AM
Specifically, it's well-suited for suction and discharge applications.
Question by: Randy M on Dec 13, 2025, 1:13 PM
got a 1/2 inch ID hose, is this the right end to get me to a 1/2-14 swivel female pipe thread?
Answer by: Customer Support on Dec 14, 2025, 4:59 PM
It matches a 0.50 inch hose ID on the shank side and a 1/2-14 NPSM female NPT swivel thread on the other end, in a straight configuration.
