fitting says reusable but how exactly does that work with a -04 hose, do you just pull it apart and put it back on?

Socketless reusable fittings like this one don't require a socket or crimping tool to assemble. You push the hose directly onto the fitting by hand, and if you need to swap it out or reuse it on another hose, you can pull it back off without destroying the fitting itself. That said, the hose cutoff dimension on this one is 0.65 inches, so you'll want a clean square cut on your -04 hose end before you seat it. A ragged or angled cut can cause a poor seal or make the hose harder to push on correctly.
