The core construction of the Cable Felsted Black 1/4-20 Plain T Handle is available in multiple series, featuring proprietary coatings over 1 x 7 wire rope. This product offers improved push loads compared to armor core construction, making it ideal for heavy-duty use.

Corrosion-resistant materials are used throughout, including 300 series stainless steel in the rods and sleeves, with hubs made of either aluminum or stainless steel. Custom compounded seals prevent moisture and contaminants from entering the cable, thereby enhancing its lifespan.

An exclusive polymer rod and sleeve bearing improve efficiency and sealing, eliminating metal-to-metal contact. This design provides precise alignment and superior sealing, leading to extended cable life. Additionally, the multiple oil-tempered spring wires in a long lay pattern protect the liner and inner core, maintaining flexibility under extreme compressive and tensile loads.

All cables use polymer liners with a temperature rating of -65deg;F to 225deg;F, and factory lubrication ensures optimum core performance without further service.

what keeps the cable from wearing out at the rod and sleeve connection over time?

Corrosion resistant materials are used throughout, including 300 series stainless steel rods and sleeves. On top of that, an exclusive polymer rod and sleeve bearing sits between the rod and sleeve so there's no metal to metal contact. That bearing also keeps the rod aligned with the seal, which goes a long way toward extending cable life and keeping contaminants out.

got a control cable that sees some cold mornings and hot engine heat later on. what temps are the liners good for?

Temperature range is one of the clear limits on this style of cable. The polymer liner is rated from -65°F up to 225°F, and it comes factory lubricated so it is meant to run without added service lubrication.
