What's the deal with the accuracy on this thing? Is it spot-on, or what?

The accuracy is rated at ±3-2-3% of the full scale. That means you'll see ±3% accuracy over the first and last quarters of the scale, and ±2% accuracy over the middle half.

Running this on a hydraulic system that throws a fair amount of vibration and pulsation. how much of the scale am I actually supposed to be working in on a day-to-day basis?

For normal steady operation, keep your working pressure between 25% and 75% of the full scale, so roughly 250 to 750 PSI on this gauge. If your system has pulsation, that upper limit drops further. Under pulsating conditions, you want to stay at or below 50% of the full scale range, which puts your ceiling at 500 PSI. The liquid fill helps settle needle flutter, but it does not change those operating pressure guidelines.

need a gauge that’ll quit bouncing around when the pump kicks on. is this one liquid filled for that?
