Premium corrugated marine wet exhaust hose for longer connections with substantial bends suitable for wet exhaust systems and engine coolant systems. This product features a thick tube and cover made from high-temperature (HT) EPDM rubber with a wire helix between 2-ply reinforcement for exceptional flexibility and bend radius. The material resists heat ozone exhaust fumes panting and collapse meeting stringent standards including SAE J2006 ABYC and NMMA. Capable of handling temperatures up to 250F with a maximum operating pressure of 60 PSI it also has a minimum bend radius of 7.5 inches. Installation should be far enough downstream from wet exhaust system water injection points to ensure the maximum continuous operating temperature does not exceed the components rating. For secure installation use a minimum of 2 stainless steel clamps per end. Recommended clamps are 3/4 inch wide T-Bolt Clamps and 5/8 inch wide Constant Torque Clamps.

trying to replace an old 3 inch wet exhaust run. is this hose actually 3.00 inch on the inside, and how big is it on the outside?

The inside diameter is 3.00 inch and the outside diameter is 3.6 inch, so it matches a 3 inch ID wet exhaust connection while giving you a little more bulk on the OD for clamps and clearance planning.

how far downstream from the water injection point does this hose need to be when installing it? trying to make sure i don't cook it

Placement matters more than most folks realize with wet exhaust hose. The hose needs to be positioned far enough past the water injection point that the temperature at its location stays under 250 degrees F continuously. That's the rated ceiling for this EPDM material. There's no fixed distance that works for every setup since engine load, water flow, and system layout all affect temps at any given spot. The goal is just making sure wherever this hose sits, it's seeing cooled exhaust mix, not raw hot exhaust gases.
