DG4S4-01 50 Series Danfoss / Eaton Coils

Description & Features

Designed as older-style direct acting air gap solenoids, these coils are intended as replacement parts for legacy equipment, new applications should reference the Wet Armature 60 Series instead. The DG4S4-01 50 Series Danfoss / Eaton Coils feature internally rectified circuitry, a compact form factor, and are rated for continuous duty across mobile and industrial environments including harvesters and refuse haulers. Viton® seals are standard across the line.

Maximum operating pressure is 3,000 PSI at ports P, A, and B, with port T rated to 1,000 PSI. Maximum flow rates depend on the spool and spring combination selected in conjunction with the coil. Standard mounting uses four 1/4-20 x 1-1/2 Grade 8 socket head cap screws torqued to 112 lb.in. maximum with lubricated threads. Detented models require horizontal mounting along the longitudinal axis; all other configurations may be mounted in any position. These valves are available in a wide range of configurations beyond those listed in the standard catalog.

Question by: Ricky J on Feb 15, 2026, 5:51 PM
got an older piece of equipment running a DG4S4-01 and need to know if this coil will hold up in continuous operation or if its gonna burn out on me
Answer by: Customer Support on Feb 17, 2026, 8:50 AM
Continuous duty is built into the design of these coils, so running them for extended periods without cycling is exactly what they're rated for. They're not intermittent-duty parts you have to baby. That said, flow rates do vary depending on your spool and spring combination, so make sure that side of things lines up with what your valve setup calls for.

got an older DG4S4-01 50 series valve and need a replacement coil, is this the right style or is it for the newer wet armature stuff
Answer by: Customer Support on May 17, 2025, 1:22 PM
For older equipment, this matches the older style direct acting air gap solenoids used on DG4S4-01 50 Series valves. New applications are called out to use the Wet Armature 60 Series instead, but for replacing an existing older setup, this is the air gap coil style.
