The DSV2-8 Shuttle Cartridge Valve offers superior performance with a maximum operating pressure of 3500 PSI, making it ideal for demanding industrial applications.

The valve senses the higher of two pressures at port 3 or port 1 and directs it to port 2. It features a flow rating of 6 GPM and operates effectively within a temperature range from -40deg;F to 248deg;F.

Recommended filtration adheres to ISO 4406 Cleanliness Level 18/16/13 or cleaner, ensuring optimal efficiency. Note that pressures exceeding 3000 PSI necessitate a steel housing.

Internal leakage is minimal, with a maximum of 5 drops per minute at 3500 PSI, ensuring reliability under high-pressure conditions. The housing, cavity size C-8-3, is sold separately.

Cartridge model DSV2-8*, available separately, complements this valve. No seal material is included with this housing. Designed for use in various hydraulic systems, it maintains performance in extreme environments.

we usually run our system right around 3200 psi. is that gonna cause trouble for this valve setup

Pressures over 3000 PSI require a steel housing. The cartridge itself handles up to 3500 PSI for infinite life fatigue but you need to make sure the housing material is upgraded to steel if you plan to run your system at 3200.

trying to wrap my head around it, what does this shuttle valve actually do with the ports?

Function-wise, it watches the pressure at port 1 and port 3, then sends whichever one is higher over to port 2.

does this shuttle valve need a separate housing, or does it come ready to drop in?

The housing is sold separately under cavity size C-8-3. What you're getting here is the housing component DSV2-8-B-0, and the cartridge itself, model DSV2-8-*, is also sold as a separate item. You'll need both pieces to have a complete, working assembly. Worth noting, if your system is running above 3000 PSI, a steel housing is required.

Can this handle fairly extreme temps, like down below freezing?
