Finally, the clips are slid over the cage arms and closed using the FT1357 Clip Closing Pliers, ensuring a secure fit.

Constructed from durable materials, this system requires no power supply and is as straightforward to use as a pair of pliers. Essential materials include a guillotine blade or equivalent cutting tool, compatible refrigerant oil, appropriately sized clips, and a nipple assembly. Note that E-Z Clip components should not be reused to maintain reliability and safety.

Sg 1 Cut The Hose
Cut the Hose to Proper Length. Be Sure the Cut is Made Square to the Hose Length
Sg 2 Slip On Two Clips
Install Two Proper-Sized Clips Onto the Cut End of the Hose
Sg 3 Oil The Nipple
Lubricate the Nipple with a Generous Amount of the Refrigeration or A/C System's Compressor Oil. This Must be Done to Lower the Force of Nipple Insertion
Sg 4 Insert The Nipple Into The Hose
Insert the Nipple into the Hose. There Should be No Gap Between the End of the Hose and the Shoulder on the Nipple. Avoid Kinking or Damaging the Hose While Inserting Nipple
Sg 5 Snap On The Cage
Snap the Cage into the Groove on the Nipple. When the Cage Has Been Correctly Installed in the Cage Groove, the Cage Will be Able to Rotate in the Groove
Sg 6 Slide The Clips
Slide the Clips Over the Cage Arms and into the Channels on Each Arm
Sg 7 Close The Clips
Use the FT1357 Clip Closing Pliers to Close the Clips. The Pliers Should be Positioned Squarely on the Clip Connection Points and Should Remain Square During the Closing of the Clip

hey I tore one of the black rings on the nipple can I just swap it out for a standard rubber one from the shop

Those two black o-rings are made of a very specific rubber compound and size so they absolutely cannot be removed or replaced. You will need a completely new nipple assembly instead of trying to swap out the seals.

got a -06 GH134 A/C hose, are these the right cages for the E-Z Clip setup?

i’ve got a tight spot to work in, do these E-Z Clip cages make the install any easier than a regular crimp setup?

For cramped installs, the E-Z Clip system is set up to be assembled with hand tools instead of a powered crimper. The basic flow is cut the hose, put the clips on, lube and insert the nipple, snap the cage on, then slide the clips over the cage arms and close them with the FT1357 clip closing pliers.
