How do I get this thing installed right? I don't want to mess up my A/C system.
Answer by: Customer Support on Aug 31, 2025, 1:26 PM
For proper installation, you'll want to lubricate the nipple with refrigeration or A/C system compressor oil before inserting it into the hose. Make sure there's no gap between the hose end and the shoulder on the nipple, and avoid kinking the hose.

what all do I need to have on hand before putting one of these splicers together? Don't want to get halfway through and realize I'm missing something.
Answer by: Customer Support on Apr 18, 2025, 4:51 PM
Before you start, round up a pair of FT1357 Clip Closing Pliers and either a FT1356 guillotine blade or a comparable square-cutting tool for the hose. You'll also need two appropriately sized clips and a cage for the fitting, plus refrigerant oil that's compatible with your specific A/C or refrigeration system. The nipple assembly comes with two black O-rings already installed, and those need to stay put exactly as they are. Once you've got all that together, the actual assembly goes pretty quick.

got a -10 A/C hose that’s 0.625 inch, will this splicer fit both ends or am i off a size
Answer by: Customer Support on Jul 10, 2025, 6:47 AM
It’s a male-to-male splicer with barb ends made for -10 hose and it lists 0.625 inch on both ends, so it matches a 0.625 inch hose on each side.
