Sg 1 Cut The Hose
Cut the Hose to Proper Length. Be Sure the Cut is Made Square to the Hose Length
Sg 2 Slip On Two Clips
Install Two Proper-Sized Clips Onto the Cut End of the Hose
Sg 3 Oil The Nipple
Lubricate the Nipple with a Generous Amount of the Refrigeration or A/C System's Compressor Oil. This Must be Done to Lower the Force of Nipple Insertion
Sg 4 Insert The Nipple Into The Hose
Insert the Nipple into the Hose. There Should be No Gap Between the End of the Hose and the Shoulder on the Nipple. Avoid Kinking or Damaging the Hose While Inserting Nipple
Sg 5 Snap On The Cage
Snap the Cage into the Groove on the Nipple. When the Cage Has Been Correctly Installed in the Cage Groove, the Cage Will be Able to Rotate in the Groove
Sg 6 Slide The Clips
Slide the Clips Over the Cage Arms and into the Channels on Each Arm
Sg 7 Close The Clips
Use the FT1357 Clip Closing Pliers to Close the Clips. The Pliers Should be Positioned Squarely on the Clip Connection Points and Should Remain Square During the Closing of the Clip

What all do I need to put one of these fittings together, got the fitting itself but not sure if there's other stuff required before I start

A few specific items are needed beyond the fitting itself. You'll need FT1357 Clip Closing Pliers to close the clips properly, a guillotine blade cutter like the FT1356 or something equivalent to get a clean square cut on the hose, two appropriately sized clips and a cage, GH134 Multi-Refrigerant hose, and refrigerant oil that's compatible with your refrigeration or A/C system. That oil isn't optional either. You have to lubricate the nipple before pushing it into the hose or the insertion force gets way too high. The black o-rings already on the nipple assembly are a specific compound and size, so leave those alone and don't try to swap them out.
