Designed for A/C and refrigeration hose assemblies, the E-Z Clip Series Fitting, 1-14 Female O-Ring Face Seal Swivel, -10 Hose, 90 deg Elbow is an Eaton Aeroquip fitting that combines a female O-Ring Face Seal swivel end with a 90-degree elbow geometry suited to routing in confined spaces. The swivel connection uses a 1-14 thread and pairs with -10 hose via the E-Z Clip assembly method, eliminating the need for crimping equipment or a power supply.

Assembly follows a clip-and-cage system: two clips are slid onto the hose end, the lubricated nipple is inserted fully to shoulder, a cage snaps into the nipple groove, and the clips are closed using Eaton Aeroquip FT1357 Clip Closing Pliers. The included seal part number is 1F40106-10. Rated for use down to -40°F, this fitting is compatible with GH134 Multi-Refrigerant hose and refrigerant compressor oils. Sg 1 Cut The Hose
Cut the Hose to Proper Length. Be Sure the Cut is Made Square to the Hose Length
Sg 2 Slip On Two Clips
Install Two Proper-Sized Clips Onto the Cut End of the Hose
Sg 3 Oil The Nipple
Lubricate the Nipple with a Generous Amount of the Refrigeration or A/C System's Compressor Oil. This Must be Done to Lower the Force of Nipple Insertion
Sg 4 Insert The Nipple Into The Hose
Insert the Nipple into the Hose. There Should be No Gap Between the End of the Hose and the Shoulder on the Nipple. Avoid Kinking or Damaging the Hose While Inserting Nipple
Sg 5 Snap On The Cage
Snap the Cage into the Groove on the Nipple. When the Cage Has Been Correctly Installed in the Cage Groove, the Cage Will be Able to Rotate in the Groove
Sg 6 Slide The Clips
Slide the Clips Over the Cage Arms and into the Channels on Each Arm
Sg 7 Close The Clips
Use the FT1357 Clip Closing Pliers to Close the Clips. The Pliers Should be Positioned Squarely on the Clip Connection Points and Should Remain Square During the Closing of the Clip

putting together an A/C hose assembly and don't have access to a crimper, does this fitting actually work without one?

No crimping equipment needed at all. The E-Z Clip system uses a clip-and-cage method where you slide two clips onto the hose, push the lubricated nipple in to shoulder, snap the cage into the nipple groove, and then close the clips with Eaton Aeroquip FT1357 Clip Closing Pliers. That's the only tool required for the connection itself. Just make sure the hose end is cut square before you start, and use compressor oil compatible with your refrigeration or A/C system to lubricate the nipple before insertion. Skipping that lubrication step makes the nipple significantly harder to seat properly.

trying to hook this up in a tight spot, is it a 90 degree elbow ORS swivel and what thread is on it?

For tight routing, it uses a 90 degree elbow body with a female O-Ring Face Seal swivel end. The swivel thread on that ORS end is 1-14.
