Putting one of these on a -12 hose right now and just wanna make sure I got the steps right before I close the clips. Walk me through it?

Cut the hose square, then slide two clips onto the cut end before doing anything else. Lubricate the nipple with compressor oil compatible with your refrigeration or A/C system and don't skip that step, it's what lets the nipple seat without a fight. Push the nipple in until there's no gap between the hose end and the shoulder on the nipple. Snap the cage into the groove on the nipple, and you'll know it's seated right when the cage can rotate freely in that groove. Slide both clips over the cage arms into the channels, then use the FT1357 Clip Closing Pliers to close them. Keep the pliers square on the connection points the whole time you're closing.

Will this fitting hold up if I'm using it with a system that cycles on and off a lot, or is it really meant for more steady-state stuff?
