Designed for premium performance in marine wet exhaust systems the Black Hi Temperature EPDM Rubber Softwall Wet Exhaust Hose 4.00 Inch ID Up To 54.00 PSI offers exceptional durability and reliability. This hose features a high-temperature EPDM rubber construction ensuring resistance to heat aging ozone and various chemicals.
With a design that supports both straight and short connections it meets and exceeds the latest SAE J2006 ABYC and NMMA standards. The extra-heavy tube and cover reinforced with 2 to 6 plies deliver robust performance under demanding conditions. The smooth inner surface reduces engine back pressure thereby optimizing effectiveness.
The hose is highly versatile and suitable for wet exhaust and engine coolant systems. It can withstand a continuous temperature of up to 250F making it ideal for high-temperature applications. Installation requires stainless steel clamps at each end ensuring secure and reliable connections.

Question by: Lance C on Jul 10, 2025, 11:20 AM
runs pretty hot under the exhaust manifold on my inboard, will this hose hold up to that kind of heat without getting soft or cracking on me?
Answer by: Customer Support on Jul 12, 2025, 6:23 AM
EPDM rubber at this grade handles continuous temps up to 250 degrees F, so sustained heat near a manifold is well within what it's built for. The extra-heavy tube and cover construction, reinforced with 2 to 6 plies depending on the section, keeps it from going soft or collapsing under load. Heat aging and ozone resistance are both built into the compound, so cracking over time from heat cycling is much less of a concern than it would be with a lower-grade hose.
Question by: Norm H on Aug 13, 2025, 9:52 PM
What size clamps should I use to install this hose?
Answer by: Customer Support on Aug 15, 2025, 1:13 PM
For installation, you'll want to use stainless steel clamps, at least 1/2 inch wide, at each end. Trident recommends 3/4 inch wide T-bolt clamps or 5/8 inch wide constant torque clamps for the best hold.
