fitting's made of 316 stainless -- does that mean I don't need thread sealant when I put it together?
Answer by: Customer Support on Aug 24, 2025, 7:31 AM
No sealant needed on this one. The 7/16-20 female JIC 37-degree flare swivel connection seals through metal-to-metal contact at the flare, so adding thread sealant would actually be working against you. Just make sure your mating surface is clean and the flare angle matches up correctly and you're good to go.

got a -4 hose here, is this the right straight swivel end for a 7/16-20 JIC hookup?
Answer by: Customer Support on Jul 10, 2025, 7:02 AM
For a straight female JIC 37 degree flare swivel connection, this one matches a -4 hose and a 7/16-20 UNF thread on the JIC end. It’s built as a crimp fitting insert, so it’s meant to be crimped onto the hose rather than used as a reusable screw-on end.
