The FC51 Series 3-Port Pressure Compensated Priority Flow Control Valve is expertly designed for variable flow control managing a 0-16 GPM range with precision. Notable for its precision ground chrome plated spool and diamond honed spool bore the valve ensures minimal leakage and extended lifespan. Its cast iron body and heat-treated steel spools underscore durability with Buna-N O-Rings standard for secure sealing.
This valve is ideal for applications requiring a consistent flow rate with both outlets pressure compensated via a spool mechanism. Fluid adjustment is facilitated by the compensator spool achieving stable flow despite pressure fluctuations. The device's design allows it to function as a 2-port flow control by sealing the excess flow port. The manufacturing quality is verified through factory tests for shutoff linearity maximum flow and pressure compensation.
The FC51's design includes a dashpot on the compensator spool to suppress hunting between a compensated pump and the valve. It supports a maximum operating pressure of 3000 PSI and is recommended for use with 30-micron filtration systems.

Running a loader with a priority steering circuit and need flow split between steering and work functions. This valve handle that kind of setup, or is it strictly for single-priority applications?
Answer by: Customer Support on Jan 14, 2026, 7:09 AM
For a priority steering setup where one circuit gets guaranteed flow first and the remainder goes elsewhere, the FC51 fits that role well. The controlled flow port handles your priority circuit and the excess flow port feeds whatever secondary function you're running. Both outlets are pressure compensated, so the priority flow stays consistent even when pressure shifts on either side. Max operating pressure is 3000 PSI and the range goes up to 16 GPM, so as long as your flow demands fall in that window and your ports match 1/2 NPT, it should work for that application.

got a machine where the pressure bounces around a bit. will this keep my flow steady anyway
Answer by: Customer Support on Sep 19, 2025, 9:11 PM
With the pressure compensated spool setup, the valve is made to hold a consistent flow out of the controlled flow port even when system pressure changes. It does that by adjusting through the compensator spool so the flow stays proportional to the lever setpoint instead of drifting with pressure.

Reckon this thing can handle being run pretty steady, like most of the day?
Answer by: Customer Support on Apr 22, 2025, 6:57 AM
Designed for consistent flow rate applications, this valve uses a compensator spool to maintain stable flow even with pressure variations.
