Question by: Peggy E on Mar 19, 2026, 11:56 AM
hose says it's rated for surge peaks, we run a pretty aggressive cycle on our press, somewhere around 4,000 PSI but it spikes hard. this gonna hold up or should I be looking at something beefier?
Answer by: Customer Support on Mar 21, 2026, 6:25 AM
At 4,250 PSI working pressure with a 2-ply wire braid reinforcement, this hose is built specifically for systems where pressure doesn't stay steady. Surge peaks are exactly the condition it was engineered around, so a press application with hard spikes at 4,000 PSI is well within what it's rated to handle. The impulse cycle life is rated at 200,000 cycles, which gives you a solid margin for heavy use before you'd expect wear-related failure.

got a skid steer line that sees pressure spikes pretty regular. is this bruiser hose actually meant for that kind of surging?
Answer by: Customer Support on May 14, 2025, 11:18 AM
Built for high pressure hydraulics that get hit with surge peaks, the FC735 series uses a 2-ply wire braid and is rated 4250 PSI for that type of service.
