Product Questions & Answers (5)

Question by: Billy M on Dec 17, 2025, 9:18 AM
what's the coating on these fittings, are they gonna hold up if they're sitting in a wet or greasy environment most of the time?
Answer by: Customer Support on Dec 18, 2025, 1:35 PM
Dura-Kote plating is what sets these apart from bare steel fittings. That finish is specifically built for corrosion resistance, so exposure to moisture, grease, and general shop grime is exactly what it's meant to handle. Carbon steel underneath gives you solid structural strength, and the plating keeps rust from getting a foothold. For a wet or greasy environment, that combination works in your favor.
Question by: Brenda T on Jan 20, 2026, 6:38 AM
What kind of corrosion resistance can I expect from these fittings?
Answer by: Customer Support on Jan 21, 2026, 6:51 AM
Dura-Kote plating provides superior corrosion resistance on these Aeroquip crimp fittings.
Question by: Bobby H on Sep 30, 2025, 11:53 AM
trying to match up ends on this fitting, what are the two end types and sizes?
Answer by: Customer Support on Oct 1, 2025, 7:17 PM
On one side you have an SAE 37 degree female end sized at 0.4375. The other side is a female Line/Hose/Tube end sized at 0.25.
Question by: Keith G on Feb 14, 2026, 8:17 PM
what's the corrosion resistance like on these fittings? got equipment sitting outside between uses and rust has been a real problem with cheaper parts
Answer by: Customer Support on Feb 16, 2026, 7:06 PM
Carbon steel fittings like this one usually raise that concern, but Eaton Aeroquip puts a Dura-Kote plating on the FC9779 series specifically to fight corrosion. It's a step up from standard zinc plating you'd find on lower-cost alternatives, so exposure between uses shouldn't eat through these the way bare steel would.
Question by: Brent G on May 7, 2025, 8:11 PM
got a -4 hose setup, is this FC9779-0404S the right crimp end for it?
Answer by: Customer Support on May 8, 2025, 9:15 PM
The key callout here is the hose dash size. This fitting is specified for a -4 hose, so it matches a -4 hose assembly on the crimp side.
