The coupling utilizes a copper-crush gasket to seat against the port face ensuring a robust seal. Standard plug/male half seals are made of FKM while socket/female half seals are constructed from Buna-N.

Broad compatibility is achieved through a wide range of standard thread styles for the plug/male half. Constructed from high resistance carbon steel with zinc trivalent plating the body material promises durability and reliability. Additionally the coupling's minimum working temperature is -40 degrees.

got an M18 x 1.5 port on my drain setup, is this the right male half and does it seal off the face with a crush washer?

Made for an M18 x 1.5 6g threaded port, this is the FD14 Series male half (plug) that seats on the port face using a copper crush gasket. That gasket is what gives you the face seal when you tighten it down.
