got a 1-inch female NPT port on a hydraulic manifold and need to tie into a SAE O-ring boss line, this the right adapter for that?

That's what this piece is built for. One end is 1-11/2 female NPT, so it threads right onto a standard 1-inch pipe thread port. The other end is 1-7/8-12 male SAE O-Ring Boss, which is your straight thread O-ring connection. Steel construction, straight configuration, no angle or offset. If your manifold has a 1-inch NPT port and your line fitting is a #24 ORB, you're looking at the right adapter.
