we run a pulp and paper setup and corrosion's been eating through our fittings somethin awful, does this one hold up any better than standard plated adapters?

Dura-Kote plating is what sets this apart from basic zinc or standard phosphate finishes. It's built specifically to resist corrosion in wet and harsh environments, which makes it a solid fit for pulp and paper use where moisture and chemical exposure are pretty constant. Carbon steel underneath gives it good structural integrity, so you're not just getting a surface treatment on a soft base. A lot of shops in corrosive-duty environments see noticeably longer service life with this kind of plating compared to plain steel or light-coat alternatives.

trying to route a line around a bracket, what ends does this 90 elbow actually have?

On the flange side, it is a SAE Code 61 split flange in 1/2 in. The other end is a SAE 37 degree male flare in 3/4 in., so it lets you turn the line 90 degrees while transitioning between those two connection styles.
