Running this on an offshore rig where corrosion eats through fittings faster than you'd believe. Does the plating on this adapter actually hold up or is it just a coating that flakes off after a few months?

Dura-Kote plating is built specifically for that kind of punishment. Offshore drilling is actually one of the listed applications for this adapter, so the corrosion resistance isn't just a general claim. Carbon steel alone wouldn't cut it in saltwater environments, which is why the Dura-Kote finish is part of the design rather than an afterthought. It's not a decorative coat.

Will this adapter hold up if I'm using it offshore where it's always exposed to saltwater?
